DoDEA Virtual High School

DVHS is comprised of these programs: DoDEA Virtual High School (DVHS) Supplemental, DVHS Expanded Eligibility Participation Program (E2P2), and the Non-DoD Schools Program (NDSP).

Established in 2010-11, the DoDEA Virtual High School is a fully accredited DoDEA high school that provides online asynchronous courses with synchronous support by full-time DoDEA certified teachers. All courses are aligned to DoDEA College and Career Readiness Standards. The DVHS supports high school students in multiple ways:  a supplemental program for students currently enrolled in a worldwide DoDEA school,  the DVHS Expanded Eligibility Participation Program (E2P2), the Non-DoD Schools Program (NDSP), and the DVHS Summer School Program for current DoDEA high school students.

  • The DVHS Supplemental Option offers students currently enrolled in a DoDEA high school the opportunity to take one or two virtual school classes to supplement the courses available at their brick and mortar DoDEA school. The DVHS Supplemental program offers all DoDEA required courses in addition to World Languages and Career & Technical Education (CTE) electives.
  • The DVHS Expanded Eligibility Participation Program (E2P2) is an enrollment expansion authorized by the National Defense Authorization Act. This program is open to active-duty dependent high school students in the U.S. and will supplement (not compete with) school districts and private programs. Students in this program may take up to two credits per year.
  • The Non-DoD Schools Program (NDSP) serves the students who live overseas where DoDEA schools are not available. Students in NDSP locations may choose to enroll in DVHS on a comprehensive (full-time) basis if needed to complete graduation requirements and receive a DoDEA diploma. Enrollment in DVHS is exclusive of NDSP participation. Review the DODEA Non-DoD Schools (NDSP) page for more information and to determine eligibility.
  • The DVHS Summer School Program is designed for students to complete the equivalent of one semester course credit. The program traditionally provides students an opportunity to earn original credit or to replace a failing grade.

For eligibility requirements for DVHS, please visit the DVHS Eligibility page.
