DoDEA Virtual High School

Welcome to the DoDEA Virtual High School! Established in 2010-11 we offer fully accredited online asynchronous courses with synchronous support by full-time DoDEA certified teachers. All courses are aligned to DoDEA College and Career Readiness Standards.

The DVHS supports high school students in multiple ways: a supplemental program to students currently enrolled in a worldwide DoDEA school (Supplemental), students in our new DVHS Expanded Eligibility Pilot Program (E2P2), students in our Non-DoD School Program (NDSP), students in our Domestic Transition Program, and current DoDEA high school students taking a course in the summer.

The DVHS Supplemental Option offers students currently enrolled in a DoDEA high school the opportunity to take one or two virtual school classes to supplement the courses available at their brick and mortar DoDEA school. The DVHS Supplemental program offers all DoDEA required courses in addition to World Languages and Career & Technical Education (CTE) electives.

DVHS Expanded Eligibility Pilot Program (E2P2)is an enrollment expansion authorized by the National Defense Authorization Act. Its purpose is to evaluate the feasibility and scalability of a permanent DVHS program after four years as well as assess the impact of the expanded enrollment on military and family readiness.

Non-DoD Schools Program (NDSP): serves the students who live overseas where DoDEA schools are not available. Students in NDSP locations may choose to enroll in DVHS on a comprehensive (full-time) basis if needed to complete graduation requirements and receive a DoDEA diploma. Enrollment in DVHS is exclusive of NDSP participation. Select Non-DoD Schools (NDSP) page for more information to determine eligibility.

Domestic Transition Program: Dependents of active duty service members who PCS from an overseas location (DoDEA Europe and DoDEA Pacific or NDSP) to a local stateside school or another accredited educational program in the United States (other than a DoDEA Americas school) are eligible to enroll in limited DVHS courses on a tuition basis.

DVHS Summer School Program is designed for students to complete the equivalent of one semester course credit. The program traditionally provides students an opportunity to earn original credit or to replace a failing grade. For the 2021 Summer School session, students who attended DVS full-time in 2020-21 with five or fewer classes will be allowed to take up to two semester credits (equaling 1 full credit) in summer school. Some limitations apply.
